It got away from me again

Sorry - I am a really bad blogger these days.  So here are things since August's 1st birthday :)

Well - #1 is that Kelsey got engaged!  So, last weekend, Amelia and I flew down to Austin to go dress shopping with her.  Amelia LOVED the airplane and the turbulence (no thank you)!  Now, every time we get in the car she asks if we're going to the airport to go see Honey and Doc and Kelsey again.  Guess we'll have to go again soon.

#2 - August is a full-on WALKER now!  When Amelia and I got back from Austin, he was walking all over the place.  He'd been taking steps for about a month - but now it's official.

#3 - Easter - it was a rainy, rainy day (with NO power for a couple of hours that morning)!  Thank goodness Starbucks was open :)  Amelia really liked hunting eggs and August just liked filling up baskets and dumping them out again.

#4 - I officially moved my office from the dining room up to the real office!  We have our dining room back, and I have a place where everything is within reach.  Business is still booming (yay!)  I made my 300th sale just yesterday.  Crazy!

#5 - Lunch and Art Festival with Daddy downtown.  On Friday, I took the kids down to Andy's office for the first time since we've moved here.  Then we walked a few blocks down to the Art Festival that was going on and had lunch.  Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it, but it was SOOOO incredibly windy - we couldn't keep the kids out for too long.  Maybe next year.

#6 - Amelia is British.  She can do a spot-on British accent.  And it came out of no where.  I was taking her around Andy's office, and she started calling me "mummy."  It's from one of her new shows, but it is pretty funny.  And she's good at it!

#7 - Swim Lessons - Amelia is starting swim lessons on Monday.  She's very excited about it, BUT she does not want her hair to get wet.  Good luck with that.

I'll keep you posted on the swim lessons :)  Maybe everyone should wish ME luck!  haha.

Attack of the Spots

We finally had August's 1st birthday party this last weekend (the 19th) and it was a beautiful day - no snow!  But, the fun really began on Tuesday morning when August woke up with some weird spots all over him.  I took him to the doctor - but she didn't really know what was going on.  Well, Wednesday morning, his entire body looked like this:
...and it kept getting worse.  He wasn't bothered by it - and he didn't have any fever - just this crazy rash!  After trying the meds the doctor gave us, I went for a 2nd opinion.  Turns out, he's most likely allergic to penicillin.  I am too - but I don't get a rash like that!  Anyway - he had been on penicillin the week before for an ear infection.  Go figure.

In other news:  Here are a few pictures of the party weekend :)

New Experience

I took August to get his hair cut yesterday.  He hated it.  But he looks cute, so all of the screams were worth it.  Sorry for causing a scene, SuperCuts.

Snow Day

We definitely got snow!  We ventured out and had some fun - but just about froze solid!  Unfortunately, this snow wouldn't stick together, so no snowman.  Not even a snowball - strange.

One Year Old

It's true.  He turned 1 on the 26th.  I, obviously, have not posted as many pictures or updates as I did for Amelia.  I wonder if this is how Kelsey feels - second child syndrome - haha!!!  So, here are some milestones at the 1 year mark.
* He is trying to walk, but only with help.  He hasn't taken a step on his own, yet.
* He can climb up onto the lower couch to sit with us
* Will say a few words, but nothing really on command or on purpose (except maybe "ba ba" when he's thirsty
* He gets mad when we take things away from him.  It's actually pretty funny
* He gets to sit facing forward in the car now, and he seems to really like it
* He's wearing size 18-24 month clothes - yikes!
* He loves playing with Amelia.  They wrestle - all the time.
* Doesn't really like his binky - except at night and naptime

We're having his party this weekend, so we'll have the cake pictures coming soon.

New Year's Resolution

Yes, I know it's Jan. 28th - but my New Year's Resolution is to pay more attention to my blog.

Here is an update since my last "real" post - which was Halloween 2010!

November - This is the month, not only of Thanksgiving, but also Amelia's BIRTHDAY!  I posted a link to some pictures in the last post, but didn't go into details.  Her birthday was small - but super fun!  We started the day by meeting some of our new OK friends at the Bounce House place.  The girls ran around and played and had a great time!  Then, we moved on to the Cupcake place.  It was so cute.  We were the only ones in there and the girls made a HUGE mess with their cupcakes - but who cares!  After that we headed home and just played the rest of the day.  It was freezing (Oklahoma is a different kind of cold).

For Thanksgiving, we went to Andy's parents' house.  It was a very nice time, but for some reason I don't have any pictures.  Hmmmmm.

December - This is Andy's birthday month and Christmas of course!  We had a nice day for Andy's birthday that ended with a night out!  The girl across the street watched the kids (they were already asleep of course) and Andy and I went to our neighborhood Progressive Dinner Party.  It was so much fun!  It's nice to actually have neighbors that are fun and that want to talk (can't say the same about our TX neighborhood)!

Christmas was really fun!  Amelia was very aware of Santa this year - so it made it very special.  We went to look at the Christmas lights one night (kind of like the Zilker park lights for you Austin people - but not on the same scale).  Amelia LOVED it.  For Christmas - we traveled to Dallas and spent 4 days there doing pretty much everything!  Here are some pics!

January - So far, so good.  My business, Pocketbaby, has really taken off and I am super busy!  I play with the kids all day and work at night.  It's fun and feels really good that people all over the country (and even Ireland) are loving my work!  Yay!

August turned 1 on the 26th.  We had a fun day out doing some shopping and playing with one of his little friends all day.  We are having his party next week - so there will be pictures to come!

I really hope I can keep up with the blogging.  I like having something to look back on.
